Salford has gone past 100 for the first time.According to the most up-to-date figures from Public Health England, there are 100.4 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people living in the borough, in the week ending September 15.It means Salford has the fourth highest rate in Greater Manchester and is more than three times the national average (30.9).In Greater Manchester, only Bury (105.2), Oldham (113.4) Bolton (189.9) have a higher infection rate.
Salford also remains on red alert.The Manchester Evening News reports on Greater Manchester's infection rates every day as it is the measure used by the government when considering imposing - or lifting - local lockdown measures.Earlier today, Eccles and the neighbouring areas of Weaste and Seedley.
