Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached a settlement out of court in the US civil sex claim filed against the royal.
In a letter submitted to the United States District Court on Tuesday, Ms Giuffre’s lawyer David Boies wrote jointly with Andrew’s lawyers to say that the parties had “reached a settlement in principle”.
Ms Giuffre, also known as Virginia Roberts, is suing Prince Andrew for damages. Prince Andrew has strenuously denied all allegations.
She claims she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, the duke’s friend, to have sex with him when she was 17, a minor under US law.
