Officers were called to reports of a man with a firearm just after 8.30pm on Saturday night (September 11) on Albert Royds Street.
Detectives and forensics conducted enquiries and it is believed that a dispute took place between two groups before a man from a group entered the shop. Read more: Man fighting for life after he was hit by tram in Manchester city centre A firearm was then discharged, police believe.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
