Pictures taken at Platt Fields Park on Thursday morning show hundreds of empty beer cans and bottles, supermarket carrier bags and other waste left on the ground.

Police were called to the Fallowfield park on Wednesday following reports of large groups of people drinking and playing music.

One neighbour, who asked not to be named, described people with ‘loudspeakers’ waving Irish flags and urinating on his garden fence.
