direct to your inboxPlans for a ‘flagship’ new special school to serve Stockport’s most vulnerable children have been given a major boost.The proposals - which would see Lisburne Primary School move to a ‘state-of-the-art’ facility at the former Offerton Primary School site - have been backed by local councillors.The old school, on The Fairway, would be demolished to make way for new buildings catering for more than 200 four to eleven-year-olds with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).Lisburne Primary School currently operates across three sites, with the main campus based at Half Moon Lane.The new school would save the council hundreds of thousands of pounds a year by creating 64 extra SEND places, meaning children would not.
