Plans have been submitted to build 59 new homes for affordable rent on the site of a former pub in Salford.Lane End Developments want to transform vacant land in Cadishead, which once housed The Lion before the pub was demolished in 2016.It is hoped that the proposed mixture of properties, including one to two bedroom flats and semi-detached houses, will encourage young people and families to move to the area.The development off Liverpool Road would be dominated by a three-storey apartment block which will also have space for four businesses to move into units on the ground floor.If approved, it will house 27 two-bed and 16 one-bedroom flats as per requirements within Salford council’s housing policy for a mixture of housing in new.
