A new semi-permanent coronavirus testing centre has launched in Tameside as seven neighbourhoods in the borough recorded 20 or more cases in a week.The new testing facility has opened on the council car park at Darnton Road in Ashton-under-Lyne, opposite Stamford Park.It is open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week and is expected to be operational for six months.People must pre-book with the NHS on the phone or online before visiting the site, which can be accessed either on foot or in a vehicle.However residents are being told to only book a test if they have symptoms of the virus, the main three being a high temperature, a new and continuous cough, and a loss or change of sense of smell or taste.People are asked to maintain a social.
