Michael Stipe is, like the rest of us, stuck at home. But he’s using the downtime to work on new music. On Tuesday night, the former R.E.M.
frontman appeared on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show for a performance of “No Time for Love Like Now,” a collaboration with The National’s Aaron Dessner for their project Big Red Machine.
Wearing a green sweater in a green room, Stipe showed his true colors by donning a Late Show cap. Stipe shared a demo of the mellow song late last month, and now it’s apparently fully-formed.
