Michael Owen has admitted he said yes to joining Manchester United while he was still a youngster at Liverpool. The former England striker of course spent three years at Old Trafford, having joined United from Newcastle in 2009.
The move proved controversial among Liverpool fans, with Owen having made his name after bursting onto the scene at Anfield before leaving for Real Madrid in 2004.
Owen though has revealed he could have ended up at United much earlier. He even told Sir Alex Ferguson he wanted to join the club as a youth player. Speaking on an upcoming BT Sport podcast The Premier League Storybook with Jake Humphrey, Owen revealed he had been courted by both Arsenal and Chelsea before United got involved.
