Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said Tuesday that he met earlier this year with actor Michael K. Williams — who died this week of a suspected heroin overdose — and discussed efforts to "collaborate" with the NYPD.
The death of the 54-year-old actor — who portrayed notorious stickup man Omar Little on "The Wire" — is not currently considered suspicious, but the city medical examiner’s office will ultimately determine how he died, the top cop confirmed on Fox’s "Good Day New York." He described Williams’ death as "very sad." "And I say that from someone that spoke to and met Michael earlier this year," the commissioner said.
