Men 'with machetes' seen on street as teenager is seriously injured - police have now launched an appeal

The group of 'several males' were seen in the Mimosa Drive area of Swinton at around 8.45pm last night (June 23). They were wielding machetes, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a 19-year-old man with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital. Enquiries are ongoing into the 'isolated' incident and no arrests have been made yet.

Sefton Road, which is around half a mile away from Mimosa Drive, was cordoned off by police last night. Pictures showed several police vehicles stationed at the scene and a section of the road
