Martin Lewis has shared how tens of thousands of women who have been underpaid in their State Pension are now set to receive back payments from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), worth an average of £13,500 each.The consumer champion explained the details of the State Pension underpayment, which affects around 200,000 women over the age of 67 and dates back to 2008, during the latest edition of The Martin Lewis Money Show Live on STV.Underpayments affected married women under the ‘old’ basic State Pension rules whose husbands reached State Pension age of 65 before or after March 17, 2008 and who were unknowingly entitled to an ‘enhanced pension’ that would have boosted their monthly payments.Martin said: “We’ve done this before.
