Gareth Southgate announced his 23-man squad for the forthcoming matches against San Marino, Albania and Poland on Thursday afternoon, with Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw also getting a deserved call-up.
Lingard was a regular for the Three Lions in Southgate's opening years as manager and he played a key role in the side's run to the World Cup semi-finals in 2018, starting five games in the tournament.
