Manchester City have five players in the 30-man Ballon d'Or shortlist after a stunning 2021 saw them win the Premier League title and reach the Champions League final.
Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling are all vying for the most prestigious individual honour in the game, the winner of which will be announced on November 29.
However, all five are considered outsiders thanks to the achievements of Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski, among others. Jorginho of Chelsea, the only other team boasting five representatives, was considered a viable candidate after adding the Euro 2020 trophy to his Champions League winners' medal, but has since slipped behind Liverpool's Mohamed Salah with bookmakers.
