The home support turned on their manager during the game, with vociferous boos ringing out when Lucas Moura was taken off to chants of "You don't know what you're doing".

Following the sacking, Solskjaer said that as a fellow manager 'you are never happy when that happens' as he offered his condolences to his counterpart.
