Man jailed after driving family to Asda in a second-hand ambulance with emergency lights flashing

direct to your inbox A man who was caught driving to Asda in Harpurhey in a second-hand ambulance whilst flashing its emergency lights has been jailed.

Blessing Mukaukirwa, 32, was spotted by officers driving the emergency vehicle into the Asda car park at around 10pm on Wednesday night.The blue lights were flashing on the ambulance when it pulled in, police said.Officers then saw Mukaukirwa leave the vehicle with a family before they went into the supermarket to do their shopping.After being tracked down, police discovered that the driver of the ambulance was disqualified from driving and also wanted to be dealt with at court.Get the latest updates from across Greater Manchester direct to your inbox with the free MEN newsletterYou can sign.
