Love Island contestant Gemma Owen has revealed her famous footballer dad hasn’t told her what she can and can’t do in the villa, including when it comes to getting intimate.
Speaking to OK! ahead of entering the famous dating show, the 19 year old daughter of former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen says she’s “very aware” of what her father might find “uncomfortable”. “They’ve not given me any rules, which is really nice,” Gemma says of her parents. “I think they do trust me.
I’ve never given them a reason not to, so my dad actually said to me: ‘I’m not going to tell you what you can and can’t do. It’s up to you to make your decisions.’ “But I’m very close with my family so I wouldn’t do anything which would purposefully disrespect them or embarrass them.
I’m very aware of what they may potentially feel uncomfortable with so I’m going to have that in mind!” And Gemma says her dad will “definitely” be tuning into the coverage even though he's never seen the ITV2 show before, and he has been “very supportive” about her decision to take part.
