LOVE Island bosses have addressed 2022 star Luca Bish's claims he was banned from speaking to Gemma Owen early in the series and he was told to egg on the boys in Casa Amor.

Speaking on the Private Parts podcast with Jamie Laing, runner-up Luca explained he was warned off chatting up his now-girlfriend Gemma in the first five days of the show.

The fishmonger explained said: "I tried to pull her for a chat on the second day and they (the producers) said 'you're not allowed to, Davide's just come in they need time to get to know each other'.

It was a storyline obviously. "They said 'we're doing this for you so you don't look like a player'. "In my head I'm thinking, the more I hold off the more she's going to get to know Davide." He also claimed he was taken aside during Casa Amor and encouraged to push the boys towards the new girls.
