A South African composer who worked on The Lion King remake has revealed that he has no recollection of having a discussion with Meghan Markle about Nelson Mandela.
Grammy-award winner Lebohang Morake, who is also known professionally as Lebo M, has said that he doesn't “remember details” of a conversation he had with the Duchess of Sussex, following claims she made in a recent interview.
During an interview with US Magazine The Cut, 41 year old Meghan claimed that an unnamed South African castmember of The Lion King had said that her 2018 wedding to Harry led to celebrations in South Africa that could be likened to the atmosphere when Nelson Mandela was freed from jail.
Speaking to the publication, the Duchess of Sussex said: “He looked at me, and he’s just like light. He said, 'I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison'.” However, since the interview, Lebohang, 58, has said that while he did speak to Meghan and Harry at the Lion King premiere in London, he does not recall their discussion.
