Lanarkshire rallies to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Community groups, businesses and individuals throughout Lanarkshire have rallied this week to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine.The country was invaded by Russia last week, with many of its cities being bombed since the assault began.

Other countries around the world are now trying to help support Ukrainian citizens, including many Scots. Larkhall businesswoman Nicola McCallum, who runs L'Perfection in the town's Union Street, was keen to help and has begun a collection in her salon's spare room.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

"I think they have now received a huge amount so we are going to keep things going to help with donations and we will be in touch with the Red Cross and UNICEF."We've had a great response already and we've had lots of donations.
