A tennis club in Perth will serve up an event to raise funds for the children of Ukraine.Local coach Ollie Paisley has organised the Hit4Ukraine which takes place at Muirhall Terrace-based Kinnoull Tennis Club on Saturday.Open to all abilities, there will be 12 straight hours of tennis, including match play, games and plenty of rallies. The event begins at 8am, finishes at 8pm and refreshments will be made available throughout.A schedule has been drawn up which sees 10 and unders on court from 11am-12.30pm for match play, followed later by those aged between 11 and 13 for match play and games from 2-3.30pm.Adult match play is pencilled in from 4-6pm before the on-court action concludes with rally and match play from 6-8pm.

There will be plenty gaps in the schedule for rallies and fun games. And all funds raised on the day will go to UNICEF.“There have been a lot of businesses and individuals doing some brilliant things,” Ollie said.“Andy Murray is donating all of his winnings to UNICEF, so there is a tennis link with it.“I’m trying to see whether it can reach out to clubs beyond Perth.

I’ve messaged a couple of clubs.“It is for all abilities and anybody can come along.“There is a wee bit of a structure, with hitting in between scheduled match-play.“People have been really keen to get involved and, even if they are not able to participate on the day, they are wanting to donate which is absolutely brilliant.”Ollie set an initial fundraising target of £500 and has just about toppled that figure already.Contact Ollie Paisley Tennis on Facebook for more information. To donate, see www.justgiving.com/fundraising/hit4ukraine
