Now yesterday, in a look we haven’t seen her wear before, Kate showed off a clever twisted updo – and it’s the perfect style for a hot and humid climate.The name of this style is topsy ponytail, which essentially means the hair has been put into a pony before being twisted through to create a loop.
It’s a quick way to upgrade an updo, and gives a very elegant effect. By twisting the pony tightly into a loop, Kate is also cleverly avoiding too many heat-induced flyaways.
We’re not sure if she considered this but the look is almost regal, with the twists creating a crown-like effect on her head.
