evoke.ieLate Late Show viewers were full of admiration for broadcasting legend Tommie Gorman on Friday evening as he announced his retirement after 41 years working with the national broadcaster.
Tommie, who will leave his role as Northern Editor in April, was branded a ‘true gentlemen’ by audiences at home who took to social media to champion him for his reliable and trustworthy work over the years.
Speaking to Ryan Tubridy, the 65-year-old journalist admitted the past four decades have ‘gone by in a flash’ for him. ‘Driving into this place this evening, it was like when I came here for an interview…’ he said. ‘My mother and father drove me up in 1980.
