The Department of Home Affairs has again been accused of discriminating against LGBTIQ+ asylum seekers, this time a gay Ugandan couple. Last month, the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg ordered Herbert Mafadi and Luzake Musana to be released from detention at the Lindela Repatriation Centre in Gauteng.

The men fled Uganda when their relationship was discovered and members of their community and their family threatened to kill them.
