The Africa Cup of Nations returns in January and looks set to leave a number of Premier League clubs in a precarious position.
With as many as 39 players potentially leaving the Premier League, teams are set to be without several key stars at an important point of the season just after the busy festive period.
AFCON players could leave their club sides after the Boxing Day fixtures have been played - meaning that players who advance through to the latter stages of the tournament could now be away from their teams for as long as six weeks - with some players not flying back until the second week of February.
