Police have confirmed that Thomas McTeir, 50, was the man who died on June 16 in hospital following an 'incident' in a home on Barrogill Street, Wick three days earlier.

A 60-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with his death. In a statement released through Police Scotland, his family said: "Tommy was a much loved father and brother.

His loss will be sorely felt by many. "We would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with his loss at this time.".
