Deadline set for Celtic and Rangers Colts reconstruction plan as SPFL clubs to decide on controversial proposal

Rangers and Celtic Colts teams. The two B teams are set to take part in this coming season's Lowland League, an idea that was met with some opposition in various areas of the Scottish pyramid but ultimately passed.

However this week brought the news that a separate reform, in effect from the 2022-23 season, could automatically promote the two Colts sides to the SPFL, starting at the League Two level.

It's likely to have it's supporters but also very vocal critics who will be aghast that the Lowland 'pilot' next season has turned out to be a precursor to further advance the position.
