David Beckham
David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

David Beckham causes clamour in the queue as he joins public to pay respects to Queen

David Beckham had caused a commotion by joining the queue for the Queen’s lying in state at 2am on Friday. Images shared on social media show fellow members of the queue to Westminster Hall holding their phones in the air to capture a picture of the 47-year-old former footballer as he waited to pay his respects.

One woman said the former England captain had been queuing for 10 hours, and that his presence caused the line to pause as the queue was “full of people trying to photograph David Beckham and forgetting to actually move onwards.
