Netflix show ever. The platform’s statistics for the week of Oct. 3rd to the 9th showed that the drama, starring Evan Peters as notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, drew in 205.33 million hours of viewing time worldwide.
That brings its total viewing time to 701.37 million hours since its premiere on Sept. 21. This pushed it past even the steamy Shonda Rhimes hit “Bridgerton” (Season 2 had 656.26 million hours over its first month out).Officially, this makes “Dahmer” the second most watched English language show in Netflix history, behind Season 4 of “Stranger Things,” which takes the top spot with 1.35 billion hours viewed.
Ryan Murphy has finally scored a win for Netflix — and all it took was an infamous serial killer to do it. Murphy’s initial deal with Netflix was an eye-popping $300 million for five years, signed in 2018.
Since then, he hasn’t seemed to deliver much for the platform. He’s put out shows such as “Hollywood,” “The Politician,” “Halston,” and “Ratched,” but they’ve all gotten mixed reviews, and none of them have set the world on fire.
