An inquest has opened into the death of a cyclist who died after being struck by a car at a busy junction in Bolton. Lee Rayner, 52, was killed in the collision on Chorley New Road earlier this month.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) described the incident on May 5 as a 'non-stop road traffic collision' and said that a 31-year-old man was arrested nearby, after VW Polo initially made off from the scene.
An inquest into Mr Rayner's death opened at Bolton Coroner's Court last week and was adjourned until August. The hearing heard that Mr Rayner died from 'multiple injuries'.
