Coronation Street may have stopped filming at the moment but they have something in the works to make up for it – a reunion.

Ensuring we still get our fix of the drama from Weatherfield, the soaps’ bosses are putting together a special reunion of the original and iconic characters.

The new four part series is set to take a look back at some of the show’s favourite and most memorable characters over the years.

Of the icons set to make an appearance on the special spin-off, Ken Barlow and Bet Lynch will star in the new episodes. The new spin-off is aiming to fill the void left since the soap suspended filmed due to risks surrounding the current health crisis.

SOAP bosses have said some of Emmerdale and Coronation Street’s high-risk, older cast members could be banned from set once filming resumes. ITV programme boss Kevin Lygo said he didn’t want actors like Corrie’s William Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, or Chris Chittell, who plays Emmerdale’s Eric Pollard, to “get sick” amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
