Corrie fans were disappointed as the soap gave them a glimmer of hope after suspending filming amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The soap announced that it was going to bring viewers all the action from Weatherfield, but in a cartoon format after closing down the set at Trafford Wharf.
The much-loved soap tweeted: "Coronation Street: The Animated Series. "Experience all the drama, comedy and romance you've come to expect from Corrie, but in a way you've never seen before!"
