Nemanja Matic has admitted there was a 'mix of emotions' in Manchester United's dressing room after drawing with Atletico Madrid.
United salvaged a draw against Atletico on Wednesday night thanks to Anthony Elanga's brilliant late finish. The Reds conceded within 10 minutes in the match when Joao Felix found the back of the net and Diego Simeone's side came close to doubling their advantage just before the break when hitting the crossbar, but United eventually found a way back.
Ralf Rangnick's substitutions in the second half changed the match and Elanga made an impact from the bench again. Matic reflected on the performance after the game and revealed there were 'mixed emotions' in the United dressing room. "It was a mix of emotions," Matic told MUTV. "We're happy because we scored at the end, we go home with a result, but we also know that we need to play better football, control the ball more, the game.
There are some things that we have to work on and that we have to improve. "To come here, in this stadium, against a very good side, and to draw is not that bad, but deep in ourselves, we know we have to play better.
