Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Celtic will need a miraculous turnaround to catch Rangers as he concedes the league is "nearly over." The former Hoops striker and pundit was brutal in his verdict over the hopes of the Parkhead side of claiming their 10th consecutive league title as they side 13 points behind Glasgow rivals Rangers.

Sutton heaped praise on the work of Steven Gerrard on the other side of the city and put him in the frame for becoming the next Liverpool boss.

When asked about Gerrard's chances of taking over the hot seat at Anfield, he said on BBC5Live : "It's his third season at Rangers and he's never going to have a more difficult job in football than when he first took over at Rangers who were trailing Celtic.
