Cat reunited with his family - six years after going missing

in Salford. Diane and Bruce Langtree were left devastated when their pet Smokey disappeared in August 2015. He escaped out the front door of their former home in Bolton while getting ready to go to the vets.

It is believed Smokey, who was just under two-years-old at the time, was scared of his cat carrier.His heartbroken family spent months searching for him without any luck.They had given up hope of ever seeing him again until they received a message on Sunday night (January 24).Smokey had been found on a football playing field just two minutes away from his old home in Farnworth.

Diane, who now lives in Little Hulton, revealed the moment she found out her beloved Smokey was still alive. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , she said:.
