Car part smashes through windscreen leaving driver seriously injured on A90

A major rescue effort was launched with an air ambulance scrambled to the scene with huge tailbacks forming. Eyewitnesses said they saw a large 'hole' in the windscreen of the vehicle.Now police have launched a probe, saying a suspension leaf spring, commonly used in car wheels, went through the windscreen of the woman's silver Volkswagen Amarok hitting her.

A police spokesman said: "The incident happened on the A90 southbound near the B966 junction around 10.50am on Sunday, when a suspension leaf spring came through the windscreen of a silver VW Amarok,.
