Bobcat Fire Burns Over 4,800 Acres in Angeles National Forest

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is currently battling a wildfire known as the bobcat fire, which has spread to over 4,871 acres, according to the United States Forest Service.

This fire erupted on Sunday at around 1 p.m. near the West Fork Picnic Area in the Angeles National Forest, causing the LACFD to respond with multiple units.Initially covering 200 acres, the fire acted erratically, growing to 1000 acres by 4:30 p.m.

and requiring over 100 firefighters to battle the blaze. It is currently 0 percent contained and firefighters continue to fight the flames as they head north, deeper into the wilderness region.
