The authority said in partnership with Public Health England it has started a "locally supported contact tracing system for the borough."The council has developed a locally supported contact tracing system which will see council staff support efforts to find people who have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.On July 23, Blackburn with Darwen was made an “area of intervention” following a Public Health England surveillance report.It meant there was an increase in testing and the easing of restrictions was paused to stop the spread.Council leisure facilities didn't reopen unlike gyms in other parts of England as the government said all businesses and venues which were required to remain.
