Bizarre claims for damage to TVs soar during coronavirus lockdown

One policyholder racked up £1,000 of damage when her son accidentally threw a stone in the direction of the patio door. Elsewhere, one customer's son accidentally threw his toy hammer.

While the youngster’s sister had a near-miss, the TV did not and suffered £400 worth of damage. Another policyholder submitted a £500 claim after their child tried to help out around the house deep-cleaned the TV with too much antibacterial spray, causing discolouration and water damage.In another claim, a youngster knocked over a tin of blue paint.
