Ayrshire MSP is to be a key witness in the trial of a former SNP MP accused of embezzling more than £25,000 from two pro-independence groups.Jeane Freeman, Scotland's health secretary, has been named as a "very important witness" in the case involving Natalie McGarry.The former MP has entered not guilty pleas to the two embezzlement charges she faces and is due to stand trial in May.Ms Freeman, who is the member for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley and will not stand for re-election to Holyrood this year, has been called to give evidence.McGarry, 39, is accused of appropriating £21,000 for her own use in her role as treasurer of the Women for Independence group between April 26, 2013 and November 30, 2015.It is claimed she transferred cash.
