Ashley Cole 'tied up by robbers who threatened to cut his fingers off' during burglary
ok.co.ukA court has heard how former England footballer Ashley Cole was subjected to a terrifying knifepoint robbery in which a masked gang allegedly threatened to "cut his fingers off".
On Monday, jurors at Nottingham Crown Court were told how the 40 year old was targeted in a "violent and ruthlessly executed" ordeal by a balaclava gang wearing camouflage on January 21, 2020.
It was revealed how the athlete's girlfriend Sharon Canu, who recently became his fiancée after a romantic proposal, managed to dial 999 for help after being targeted while watching a movie together at 9.30pm that evening.
During court, it was revealed that raiders demanded the ex-Arsenal star to hand over his jewellery and watches before one attacker, who was carrying a plier, suggested: "Let's cut his fingers".
