ANNE Heche's life support machine has been turned off, two days after she was legally declared brain dead. While Heche was declared brain dead on Friday, which the state of California deems to mean a person is legally dead, she was kept on life support to harvest her heart.

On Sunday morning it was reported that a match had been identified who would receive her organs and that the support would be turned off later in the day. “Anne Heche has been peacefully taken off life support," a press representative for the actress told TMZ Sunday night. “It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she’s being kept on life support to determine if any are viable,” a rep for Heche earlier said.

Heche's family released a statement to People, calling the former star "a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend."
