Traffic-calming pilot aims to resolve school parking problems

Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Works to introduce a traffic-calming pilot around a Renfrew school are set to start during pupils' October break next week.Several measures will be put in place from next Wednesday, October 14, in a bid to put an end to long-running issues with congestion and irresponsible parking at school drop-off and pick-up times around Newmains Primary.The council is set to put "keep clear" markings in place on the corners where Sandy Road meets Lang Avenue and Baron Street.Meanwhile, Lang Avenue will be closed throughout the pilot between Aisla Road and Arran Road - which could become permanent if the test is successful.
