A thug who attacked a Metrolink ticket inspector has been jailed. Jordan Halliday became violent after being asked for proof of his fare at Audenshaw tram stop in Tameside.
The 39-year-old repeatedly assaulted the male staff member, causing him multiple injuries in what police described as an 'abhorrent assault on a man who was simply doing his job'.
Halliday, of Ridge Hill Lane, Stalybridge, was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay £150 compensation to the victim after he pleaded guilty to assault and a public order offence at Tameside magistrates' court.
