Three people have died and one is fighting for their life in hospital following a major river rescue operation in Wales. Emergency services were called to the River Cleddau in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, at 9am on Saturday following reports of "people in distress".
Dyfed-Powys Police said a group of nine people had got into difficulty during a paddle-board excursion. Police have since confirmed that two women and a man have died. Emergency services descended on the river on Saturday to take part in a multi-agency river rescue to search for individuals in the river.
