Keaton Winder, 18, was stopped by officers after being spotted acting suspiciously on Marsland Road in Sale. But when police tried to search his bag, he ran off.

He was caught a short time later on nearby Conway Road - but no longer had the bag. The teenager refused to tell officers where it was, but the bag was later found by a police dog in a back garden on Warbreck Grove.

It contained an imitation gun, converted to fire real bullets, and three rounds of 9mm ammo. Winder, of of Swanage Avenue, Brooklands, was arrested and answered 'no comment' throughout the
