Teenagers arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after man brutally attacked on his way to work

Detectives said the victim was 'lucky to be alive' following the attack earlier this month. Officers were called to Ferndale, in Skelmersdale, near Wigan, at about 7.30am on April 4 following a report a 37-year-old had been found with serious injuries.

Police say the man was on his way to work when he was attacked. It is believed he may have been targeted at nearby Firbeck. The victim was taken to Aintree Hospital for treatment and is now recovering at home.
