Emergency services rushed to the A56 Walmersley Road following reports of a collision at around 3.15pm on Wednesday (May 26).

Officers at the scene discovered that a 16-year-old pedestrian had been hit by a bus on the road. He was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital after suffering a head injury in the collision.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests have been following initial enquiries into the crash, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed.
