Self-employed cyclists and drivers for logistics firm Stuart Delivery have seen the way they are paid switched from a flat fee per delivery to a system based on mileage.

But because many deliveries are over short distances, they claim it will see them lose money and in some cases earn less than the national minimum wage of £8.91 per hour.

Stuart - which has contracts with JustEat and Pizza Hut among other fast food firms - says the changes have been made to 'ensure couriers are paid more fairly based on the distance they travel per delivery'. READ
