Sue Gray's inquiry into a number of alleged parties held in Downing Street will not be published while the Metropolitan Police also investigate, reports suggest.
Dame Cressida Dick announced this morning that the Met will probe a 'number of events' in No 10 and Whitehall in relation to potential lockdown breaches.
She said the force had received information from the Cabinet Office but declined to say which alleged parties are being investigated. “The fact that we are now investigating does not, of course, mean that fixed penalty notices will necessarily be issued in every instance and to every person involved,” she said. The announcement came after another Downing Street scandal was revealed by ITV News last night. Boris Johnson has admitted attending a birthday party organised by his wife in June 2020, when social mixing restrictions were in place.
